"The entire New York State Republican Committee today mourns the passing of former Councilman Tom Ognibene. Through his decades of public service, Tom not only left an indelible mark on his beloved borough of Queens, but he also cared deeply about the future of our entire state. Even after leaving office, he took time to mentor and counsel new candidates. Whether it was during the prime of his life or throughout his illness, he was a passionate advocate for his beliefs and never stopped fighting.
