In Celebration of our Parish Office Volunteers




 
Saint Paul's Office Volunteers  represent the church in the front office by answering phones, greeting visitors, helping with administrative tasks, and doing countless deeds of good will.  We offer a special thanks to these parishioners and our many other Office Volunteers who were not able to attend the luncheon this week.

Master's Table Soup Kitchen
Saturday, October 24, 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM
The Master's Table Soup Kitchen located at 702 Fenwick Street will be staffed and sponsored by Saint Paul's Church volunteers Saturday, October 24. First shift from 8:30 - 10:30 AM will cook and set up; second shift from 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM will serve. We welcome all volunteers. Children as young as eight may volunteer with parents. Fall Under 50 Gathering 
Saturday, October 24, 6-8 PM
The Fall Under 50 Gathering (Adults 21-50) will be held at the home of Michelle and Bryan Hawkins, located at 3698 Foxfire Place, Martinez, 30907 West Lake Subdivision, Saturday, October 24, 6:00 - 8:00 PM.   RSVP to the parish office or by telephone (706) 724-2485.
Augusta Choral Society Concert at Saint Paul's Church
Saturday, October 24, 7:30 PM
The Augusta Choral Society opens its 65th Season, with a concert at Saint Paul's : Atlantic Alliance - Folk Songs from England and America featuring "The Sprig of Thyme" by John Rutter, & "Old American Songs" by Aaron Copland with the Lyra Vivace Chamber Orchestra.  Tickets are available from the Augusta Choral Society or by phone (706) 826-4713, $25/Adults, $10/Students & Active Military.

Downtown Augusta Historic Churches Tour
Sunday October 25, 1 - 5 PM
 An Encore Tour of last year's Downtown Augusta Historic Churches will be Sunday, October 25.  Saint Paul's is one of fourteen churches which will be open for self-guided tour in the afternoon.  Bring your friends to Saint Paul's and stay for the Celtic Service at 5:30 PM.
Celtic Evening Prayer
Every Sunday, 5:30 PM
Celtic Evening Prayer and Communion with prayers for healing begins at 5:30 PM Sunday evening. Rob Foster is our guest musician this Sunday.

Tuesday's Music 
Tuesday, October 27, 12:00 noon
Tuesday's Music Live continues its 28th season Tuesday, October 27 with a free concert by Utake, Shakuhachi flutes, piano and percussion.  The full schedule is available on-line here.   Lunch, catered by Sleeping Bear Kitchen, is available after the concerts by advance reservation. The cost is $12 per person. Reservations can be made online at www.TuesdaysMusicLive.com, or by calling the Box Office, 706-722-3463.
Children, Youth, and Families Committee (CYFC) Meeting

The Children, Youth, and Families Committee will meet next Wednesday, October 28, 5:30 PM in Tyler Hall. This committee plans events and Christian Formation for Children, Youth, and Families. Old Fashioned Halloween Fun with our Lynndale friends

Coats for Kids (Outreach Coat Drive)

Cold weather is fast approaching! Please donate coats, jackets, hats, gloves and scarves. All sizes are needed, boys and girls, new and gently used. A drop off box is located in the Narthex and Tyler Hall. The cold weather gear will be distributed to our friends in the neighborhood at Craig-Houghton Elementary School. Please help a child bundle up this winter!  Contact Kathy Enicks for more information.

Daylight Savings Time Ends Sunday November 1

Fall Back Next Sunday.  Daylight Savings Time ends November 1. Be sure to turn your clocks back one hour before you go to bed Saturday night. 
Evensong
Sunday, November 1, 5:30 PM
This season's first Evensong will be on All Saints' Sunday at 5:30 PM. The Saint Paul's Choir will sing music of Charles Villiers Stanford, Martin Neary, and James Bassi. Mark Dickens will be guest organist. Child care will be provided and a reception in Tyler Hall follows the service. This is a great opportunity to invite friends to Saint Paul's Church.
New Bread Ministry
Bakers of Saint Paul's, I invite you to consider participating in a ministry, baking bread for Holy Communion at our Celtic service. I have a special recipe including detailed instructions and prayers, so if you are interested in learning what is expected in this ministry, please call or email Deacon Jenkins.

Columba House Augusta needs "stuff" to get up and running.  Please peruse the needs list. If you can support this important new Episcopal ministry in Augusta, then please contact Ranie Neislar or 912-236-4279  to coordinate donations/pick-up.

Columba House Augusta, located at 1867 Central Ave., Augusta, GA 30904  is a new Episcopal intentional community where young people can explore spirituality through dialogue, prayer, and service to our neighbors.

Most needed today:

* patio furniture
* 2-3 side tables
* lamps

Other needs:
- 3+ comfortable chairs (could take more depending on size)
- 2+ side chairs (chairs that are smaller and easily moveable from room to room)
- large coffee table (preferably square)
- 2 or 3 side tables for living room
- floor lamp
- blankets (machine washable only)
- dining room table that seats at least 8
- 8 dining room chairs
- china cabinet or buffet (some kind of storage for dining room area)
- microwave
- mugs (small, plain, in good condition)
- utensils for eating and cooking (set of 8)
- simple plates, bowls, glassware (set of 8)
- coat rack (1+) (can be affixed to wall preferable)
- trash can (2)
- grill
- fire pit (moveable)
- rocking chairs (for front porch)
