As you know,
MIC's Annual Community Meeting is this Tuesday, March 24 at 7pm at the South Cobb Community Center, 620 Lions Club Drive in Mableton. MIC is a membership-based nonprofit organization, so each year our members cast their ballots for candidates running for the MIC Board of Directors.
The Nominating Committee recommends the following candidates:
- Joel Cope
- Robin Meyer
- Dr. Tia Minnis
- Ellen Russ
- Shoresh Seldon
- J.R. White
- Tony Womble

If elected, these individuals will serve along with four current Board members who are halfway through their two-year terms: Cherri Belew, Bob Carreker, Michael Delano, Broderick Santiago. Dr. Betty Ann Cook and Dennis Hayes have chosen not to run for re-election and Don Seaberry left the Board recently due to the demands of his new job.
The entire Board thanks Betty Ann, Dennis and Don for their service and dedication to Mableton. We would also like to recognize Janis Stevenson, who is currently MIC's Vice President. Janis attended the first meetings of the neighbors who would form MIC back in 2001, and has been in a leadership position with MIC continuously since that time. In recent years, Janis has organized MIC's Secret Santa program for kids at the Boys & Girls Club. All of you have our deepest appreciation.
In addition to our usual business meeting and report on our 2014 accomplishments and plans for 2015, these topics are also on the agenda:
