There is change in the air this fall at Metro Interiors! How about for you?
Firstoff, we are happy to welcome the newest member of our team, Design Assistant Anna. She is a graduate of Century College, and comes to us with a variety of experience. She loves utilizing her creativity to design spaces, making them comfortable and beautiful, but also functional - and a place clients love.
In this issue we reveal some changes we've made to a dining room, to beautify and balance the space.
Check that out here!
As you'll see with this dining room and all other spaces I design, artwork is VERY important. Not just to achieve the look or feel you want, but also to change the energy of the space so that it supports you in life.
Read my personal story about how I've done that here.
Also this issue, I am lucky to be able to feature my art instructor, Dan Mackerman's pieces in our
Virtual Art Gallery. Dan is a funny, warm and down-to-earth man, who has taught me so much to help me grow as a fine art painter; he's certainly changed my life. You can
learn more about his many accomplishments and current work here.
And lastly, 'tis the season -
is your home ready for the upcoming holidays? If not,
schedule a consultation with me now, before it gets too late. I can help you change some things in your space to make it warm and welcoming for you and your guests.
Warmest Regards,
Julie Ann

With this beautiful new construction home in the Southeast suburbs, our task in the dining room was to work with new and existing furnishings to give it a polished look.
Before, the room felt incomplete. It was somewhat empty without artwork and window treatments. Because the table was too small for the space, and didn't coordinate well with the light fixture, it felt imbalanced.

We place art in our spaces for many different reasons - because it's beautiful, inspirational, or because it makes a statement about who we are or what we believe in.
With Feng Shui, the placement of art can go one step further, and actually support our intentions - to create a sense of harmony, attract more wealth, support us in our careers, or enhance a relationship, for example.
When I first moved into my apartment after getting divorced, I needed to use Feng Shui to boost my energy. I was starting a new life. I moved in with no furniture, and only my favorite art and accessories. Low on resources, and recovering emotionally, I knew art would inspire me in work and to be happy. In fact, I made the choice to invest in art over furniture.
