Rhododendron
Remove spent flower heads to prevent seeds from forming. this allows new growth to expand and spring buds to set for following year.
Spirea
Remove spent flower clusters to promote mid summer bloom and to shape overall look of plant. If the plant has gotten out of control, cutting back to 12" for the ground will allow for the shrub to regrow..
