Certain areas of the world offer much greater value when it comes to wine. One of those areas is the Languedoc. This area of southern France is packed with old family vineyards that have long been paid off. The climate is perfect for growing plentiful amounts of juicy, easy drinking wines with earthy complexity. The best thing is that they're available at prices that are a steal.

This week's wine is no exception Les Daron is a bottle stuffed with perfectly ripe, raspberry fruit with aromas of lavender, dried herbs and hint of dried earth. A good chunk of this wine is going home with me so get it while you can!

"A wine that blew me away... thrilling notes of black and blue fruits, violets, and peppery spice to go with a medium to full-bodied, elegant, seamless profile on the palate... striking purity, integrated acidity and a great finish. It should drink nicely on release and have 7-8 years of overall longevity." Robert Parker, 91 to 94 points!

2013 Les Darons by Jeff Carrel - Languedoc, France

Regularly $14.99, Special Offer Price $12.74

Cheese: Alpha Tolman by Jasper Hill Cellars - $23.99/lb

Alpine cheeses like Appenzeller and Gruyere inspired the recipe for this Jasper Hill Creamery original. Alpha Tolman has a buttery, fruit and nut flavor when young, developing bold and meaty, caramelized onion flavors as it matures. It's perfect when paired with a big juicy red wine like Les Darons. The pressed plum and juicy fruit flavors of the wine will complement the buttery fruit flavors of this fabulous cheese!
