St. Anne-Pacelli 8th Grader to Compete on National Level Best wishes to St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School 8th grader Charles Stephenson, who will travel to College Park, Maryland, this summer, to compete in The Kenneth E. Behring National History Day Contest. Charles earned 1st place in the Paper category at the state-level National History Day Contest at Mercer University, in April, and also took top honors at the regional National History Day Contest, held in March, at LaGrange College. Charles says he's excited to compete in The Kenneth E. Behring National History Day Contest, which will take place June 14-18, 2015, on the campus of the University of Maryland. |
Go Green St. Anne-Pacelli 9th grader Jacob Landry, a very active member of St. Anne-Pacelli's Green Team, accepted the 2015 Gateways School Award for St. Anne-Pacelli at the Keep Columbus Beautiful luncheon on May 14th. This is the sixth year St. Anne-Pacelli has won the Gateways School Award! Keep Columbus Beautiful's mission is to engage and educate individuals to take greater responsibility for enhancing beautification, protecting the environment, and eliminating litter and blight. |
New High School Baseball Coach
Hart Mizell is St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School's new High School Baseball Coach. Coach Mizell comes to St. Anne-Pacelli from Georgia Southern University, where he served as Director of Baseball Operations since January 2015.
Originally from McRae, Ga., Coach Mizell played junior college ball at Middle Georgia, where his grandfather also played. He played his final two collegiate seasons at Columbus State University (CSU), where he was an all-conference closer in 2013. Following his senior season, he signed with the Joliet Slammers of the Frontier League and made his professional debut on July 24, 2013.
Coach Mizell earned a bachelor's degree in History from CSU. In addition to serving as High School Baseball Coach, he also will teach High School History at St. Anne-Pacelli.
Volleyball Interest Meeting
Parents of rising 6th-12th grade girls interested in playing volleyball during the 2015-2016 school year are invited to a meeting, to be held May 27th, at 5:30 p.m., in the Auditorium.
In the Swing of Things
Congratulations to St. Anne-Pacelli senior Sarah Grace Drop, who placed 4th in the Class A private tournament, held May 18th, at Crystal Lakes Golf Club, in Hampton, Ga.

Summer Homework
St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School students in grades K-12 are required to complete summer homework. Assignments, which can be found
online
, must be completed and turned in during the first week of the 2015-2016 school year.
High school summer homework will be posted online by the end of May.

School Supplies
When it comes to purchasing your child's school supplies for the 2015-2016 school year, St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School offers two options for parents:
1. Order pre-packaged School Supply Packs for PK3-8th grades from Educational Products, Inc. (EPI): Details about and instructions on how to order School Supply Packs can be found online. The deadline to order EPI School Supply Packs at the discounted rate is July 1, 2015.
2. Purchase Items Individually: Parents may download, print and shop for school supplies using grade-level specific lists, which also can be found online.
Note: High school supply lists will be posted online by the end of May. Due to the individual nature of high school class schedules and placement, high school supplies are not available for purchase through EPI.

Pre-Planning Details *Wednesday, August 5th: PK3, PK4, and Kindergarten Parent Orientations, 6:30 p.m. *Thursday, August 6th: Meet the Teacher (teachers will be in touch, over the summer, to set up individual meet & greet times) *Thursday, August 6th: Middle School Schedule Pick-Up and Drop-In, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. *Thursday, August 6th: 1st-5th Grades New Family Orientation, 9-10 a.m. *Thursday, August 6th: Middle School Orientation, Noon-1 p.m. (for all rising 6th graders and any new middle school families in 7th & 8th grades) *Thursday, August 6th: High School Orientation Meeting, Noon-1:30 p.m. (for all rising 9th graders and new high school families with students in 9th-12th grades)
Please note: Beginning in June, the School Office will be open Tuesday-Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and closed the week of June 29th for the July 4th holiday.
