Hosanna E-Update
A Whole New View - O Come!

"I bring you good tidings of great joy,
which shall be to all people."
~from Luke 2

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

Our hearts turn to the manger as we enter the Season of Advent and prepare to fully engage the story of Christmas. On Sunday we will travel to the manger and hear a story of JOY!

Too many of us endure "the holidays" as a four-week long marathon with way too much to do, way too much to eat, and way too many obligatory social events. All this is bad enough, but when we know it will all climax around January 15 when way too many bills come due ... well, everything combined can make us want to collapse into a tired heap! We forget that "the holidays" are (or at least could be) "holy days," days set aside for the express purpose of basking in the comfort and joy, the "glad tidings of great joy," Baby Jesus brought to earth.

This Advent we are conspiring to do it differently- worship fully, spend less, give more, love all!! There is comfort! There is joy! No matter how lost we feel, no matter how far we have strayed from that manger and the Savior who once lay there, we can come home, we can return to the manger. The darkness will not win. We have a Savior! May comfort and joy be yours-this holy season and always!

See you at the manger!
Pastor Linda

PS- Look for places of JOY during the first week of Advent and use the hosannafl to share it with us on Instagram or Facebook! Look for an ADVENT PAUSE devotion each day on Facebook with hosannafl

Play and Pause

An afternoon play and then a time for conversation
about what we experienced. Cost:  $28 per person

The PLAY: Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol at the
Park Square Theatre in downtown St. Paul. This new twist on the traditional Christmas play brings Jacob Marley out of the shadows, away from the doorknocker and into the spotlight to get his version of the Charles Dickens classic.

The PAUSE: Great Waters Brewing Company (a short walk from the theatre) following the play - an optional time to have dinner and conversation.

Limited number of tickets available. To reserve yours, sign up on the Welcome Center bulletin board or on a Yellow Page or at our website

Countdown to Hosanna's
FMSC MobilePack on
April 1 & 2, 2016 = 126 Days!!

God has blessed Hosanna richly. You can   help reflect that love by supporting this
mission to enrich the lives of so many   children by providing needed nutrition in order for them to thrive. We need to raise $30,000   to cover cost of the food and another $5,000  for building maintenance following the MobilePack. Hundreds of volunteers will be needed on April 1 & 2 to help pack the food.

Ways YOU Can Help
  1. Take home a Change-4-Change glass jar and continue to fill it with loose change and/or currency and bring it to worship on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights  at connect360.
  2. Write a check to "Hosanna" (write "FMSC" on memo line).
  3. Tell your family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, etc. about this MobilePack and ask them to sign up for one or more of the time slots or even organize a team to sign up.  We will soon publish a link for volunteers to sign up online for a time that best works for them.
Angel Tree Ministry
Angel Tree, a program of Prison Fellowship, reaches out to children living in Minnesota who have a parent(s) in prison and gives you an opportunity to share God's love by helping to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the families of prisoners. Pick up an Angel Tree tag from the display in the Welcome Center. Each tag includes gift suggestions for a specific child. You purchase a gift for that child in the suggested amount of $20-25 and return it to Hosanna in a box ready for wrapping no later than Sunday, Dec. 13. If you would like to help wrap and/or deliver gifts to the children on behalf of incarcerated parents, sign up on a Yellow Page or contact Sue Palmer at 651-329-1098 or Anne Myre at 651-303-9321.
Operation Christmas Child - Thank You
Thank you to all who provided gift items, or shoe boxes, or who help pack complete gift boxes for Operation Christmas Child this year. A total of 43 boxes were assembled to be shipped to children in need around the world this Christmas
