Prepare for the High Holy Days

From the Rabbi ....   The High Holy Days will be here soon! In fact, Elul, the Hebrew month that precedes Rosh Hashanah, begins this Sunday.  During Elul, Jews have traditionally set aside part of each day to study and prepare for the High Holy Days (HHD's). This custom allowed Jewish people to encounter and grapple with the themes of the HHD's well before they ever arrived for services.   Read more ...
Back-to-School BBQ, August 30, 11:00-12:30!

Our TBC Men's Club & Sisterhood will be holding a 'Back to-School BBQ' on the first day of Religious School coming up on August 30th from 11:30 - 12:30.

We will be BBQing hamburgers plus... for our Religious School crowd, both children and their parents. This event will be co-sponored by the Religious School. The men can't wait to cook up a storm for the crowd. It should be fun!

Let the Sun Shine - TBC to Go Solar!

As introduced at May's Congregational meeting, TBC has the opportunity to have solar energy panels installed on the roof of the new building, producing just about all of the electricity our building utilizes throughout the year.  Due to generous renewable energy credits, "green energy" financing and a robust solar marketplace, TBC has gone through a bidding/selection process and now has the opportunity to - at no cost to TBC - have a solar generation system completely installed and maintained on our behalf.

Benefits of the system include cost-savings through a 20 year fixed electrical generation rate that is significantly lower than our current rate, as well as demonstrating our commitment to being mindful stewards of our environment.  Further, the panels themselves will be positioned in such a way as to complement and not interfere with the aesthetic of the new part of our building.  Interested in learning more and seeing renderings of the completed project?

Click here for more information and renderings.  After you've taken a look, we'd welcome hearing from you with any comments and/or questions.
