It's Your Venice -- Get Involved!
Saturday!  LADWP Customer Service Saturdays

Customers who attend Customer Service Saturday at any of the four locations can expect assistance from staff who are able to take payments, process service order requests, answer billing questions and resolve billing issues. There will be informational tables and displays with helpful information on LADWP programs and services available to customers, as well as sign-up materials.

Tuesday, June 16:  Board of Officers Meeting

Join us Tuesday!  Your Board members will consider a number of resolutions and land use proposals, starting at 7pm at  Westminster Elementary School Auditorium.

Among the agenda items are  a request to release the video relating to the recent shooting death of Brendon "Dizzle" Glenn during a May 5 altercation on Windward with a police officer; a proposal to approve VNC's 2016 Strategic Plan and consideration of a new restaurant to replace Fiesta Brava at 425 Rose.  

This event is free and open to the public. Public Comments are encouraged.

 

A detailed agenda will be posted on the Internet at www.VeniceNC.org and at the Abbot Kinney Library, 501 Venice Way, and Beyond Baroque, 681 Venice Blvd.

 

The VNC normally holds its regular meetings on the third Tuesday of each month and may also call any additional meetings in accordance with its By-Laws and the Brown Act.

Wed, Jun 17:  FAA Public Meeting - EIR on Flight Paths

On June 10, the FAA published a Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) on impacts of the SoCal Metroplex airspace, including aircraft arrival/departure procedures and flight paths.  

The final report will include public input submitted during the thirty-day review period.  

Venice stakeholders are encouraged to attend the June 17 meeting at Santa Monica Public Library, both to hear about possible flight path changes and to submit comments regarding Santa Monica Airport impacts on Venice.

BE A HERO TO OUR HOMELESS HEROES

"Homes for Heroes" is a program to engage our landlord community to rent to our veterans. The resource we are using to house our veterans is called the Veterans Assistance for Supportive Housing or VASH.VASH provide homeless veterans with a long-term rental subsidy and supportive services so that the veteran retains and succeeds in housing. The City has over 1,000 VASH vouchers to house homeless veterans in 2015.

Sign Up for Emergency Alerts

Los Angeles County has implemented an emergency mass notification system that will be used to contact County residents and businesses via recorded phone messages, text messages or e-mail messages in case of emergency.  The system, called Alert LA County, will be used by the County's Emergency Operations Center to notify residents and businesses of emergencies or critical situations.
