Board of Officers Takes Action
|
With Vice President Marc Saltzberg presiding, our VNC Board of Officers worked through an extended meeting Tuesday night, beginning with an appreciation of longtime VNC Land Use and Planning Chair Challis Macpherson for her robust community service career.
The Board went on to approve new rankings for community improvement projects. Neighborhood Committee Chair Marc Saltzberg noted that this year's group of projects was the best he had seen to date.
In other business, the Board supported a new restaurant on Rose, while recommending denial for a small lot subdivision on Washington Way and two adjacent projects on Oxford.
Acting President Saltzberg
urged Venice residents to attend the 9th Annual Venice BBQ, which will be held Saturday, August 8th from 12-4pm (See below). LAFD Station 63 Fire Fighters
will be cooking on the Mother of All Barbeques while residents are urged to bring sides to complement the hundreds of pounds of chicken, burgers, hot dogs and ribs that will be available to all those in attendance.

Call for Artists - Power of Art
|
For centuries, artists have been pushed to the side, disrespected and taken advantage of for their talent. This is especially true in Los Angeles. But
enough is enough. It is time to bring opportunity to artists and bring them out of the shadows.
Power of Art is unveiling LA's soul in the streets. We have successfully fought to secure mural access to over 4,000 signal boxes in Los Angeles.
