The Teen Advisory Council is composed of Howard County high school students (public, private and home school) who meet monthly during the school year to discuss teen use of alcohol and other drugs and to develop educational messages that promote HC DrugFree's vision of a county where teens are drug-free by choice.

Benefits of joining the

Teen Advisory Council are:

  • Meet new people from other schools
  • Community Service Hours
  •  Gain knowledge of what's happening in Howard County
  • Feel empowered to make a difference

On September 16, 2004, Gordie, an 18-year-old freshman at the University of Colorado, pledged a fraternity.  The next morning, he was found dead - a victim of an irresponsible hazing ritual involving alcohol.  HAZE will shed light on the severity of college binge drinking, destructive drinking games and hazing.  This is a MUST SEE presentation for teens and parents.

Guest Speaker: Joseph Schwartz, M.D. - Medical Director, Psychiatric Services, Howard County General Hospital
