Intent to Register Deadline March 31 

All returning King's students must submit an Intent to Register online to declare their degree and module choices for the following academic year.
 

  1. Attend Academic Dean's Office and departmental information sessions, as well as sessions by the Faculties of Law and Education.These sessions will help you choose your program(s). Schedules are posted on the King's website and available at the Academic Dean's Office and Enrolment Services at King's.
  2. Read the Academic Calendar to understand your program and course requirements.
  3. Gather information about your degree and program. See: Degree Check 101 and program checklists.
  4. Meet full-time faculty members during their office hours to discuss courses of interest and to make informed choices in selecting your program and courses for next year.

Bridging Assistant positions with King's International Office

Applications are being accepted for positions of Bridging Assistants. You will need to be available from August 20 - 30, 2015. A Bridging Assistant is a student who assists with all aspects of the International Bridging Orientation Program. A successful applicant will demonstrate leadership, maturity, event planning experience, intercultural communication skills, as well as strong interest in sharing their King's experience and learning from experiences of new international students. This is a position with a stipend of $200.

 

Please submit your Resume and a cover letter outlining the qualities and experiences that you would bring to this position to King's International Office no later than 4:30pm on February 23, 2015.

International Peer Guides for 2015-2016

King's students interested in becoming mentors to new international students coming to King's in September 2015 are invited to submit their applications for International Peer Guide Positions.

 

This is a volunteer position. The program runs from September 2015 - March 2016. The deadline for peer guide applications is February 23, 2015.

Tutoring for French Students

Are you having difficulties with French grammar or reading in French? Do you need help preparing for tests and exams?

 

The Department of Modern Languages offers a free French Tutoring Programme for first-year and second-year students of French. Senior students of French volunteer their time to help you master the difficulties and the intricacies of the French language.

Than Clan: Let's Talk ... Physician Assisted Suicide

The Supreme Court of Canada has lifted the ban on physician assisted suicide. The Than Clan will be hosting a discussion night on this ethical topic in Palliative Care.

 

Dr. Eunice Gorman is a professor at King's, and will be presenting a lecture on physician assisted suicide, followed by a student run discussion. Dr. Gorman is a registered nurse and social worker, and has worked in a number of fields related to Thanatology, including oncology, palliative care, bereavement, perinatal bereavement, professional caregiver support and chronic illness as a clinician.

 

It will be an intellectually stimulating night, as we hope to discuss the many layers of this amendment. We hope to see you there!
