Celebrating Cancer Survivors June is National Cancer Survivor Month A cancer survivor is anyone with a history of cancer - from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life. For many cancer survivors and family members, cancer is a life-changing event. Throughout the month of June, the Cancer Center will honor cancer survivors and their loved ones. It is a celebration for those who have survived, an inspiration for those recently diagnosed, a gathering of support for families and an outreach to the community. On Friday, June 5, we kicked off survivorship month with an ice cream social. About 50 cancer survivors and their caregivers, along with healthcare providers and volunteers, celebrated with tasty ice cream sundaes and a fun photo booth. A special thanks to all who participated and volunteered.
