Beginning Runner's Class

Fall is approaching and Lou has been busy getting ready for the beginning runners class to start.  There are 10 sessions, all of them are free, and he will cover an important topic at the beginning of each session and follow up with a run that is targeted for beginners.  The sessions meet on Monday evenings at 5:45 in the Ward Parkway Mall at Garry Gribbles starting September 21.  You don't have to be a beginner to attend these sessions. They are great refresher courses too!  If you've been out of the running loop for awhile and want to get back in, this is the place to start.  Hope to see you there!

Cliff Hanger 5k/8k
Run or Sponsor a Youth Runner

The Cliff Hanger 5k and 8k is more than a race.  It is an opportunity for KCTC to introduce area youth to the endless benefits that running can provide.  We work in partnership with our naming sponsor, Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (KCU) to make this happen.  Students at KCU spend several weeks training youth for this event by educating them about health and running in weekly classes.

KCTC gets to help these youth put their education into action by providing a running opportunity they most likely wouldn't be able to experience otherwise.  KCTC supplies bib numbers, shirt, medal, transportation to and from the race, breakfast and provides shoes and clothing if needed.  KCTC would love to grow this opportunity and hopes you will consider a $25 sponsorship.
Register here! We hope to see you November 1 at the 2015 Cliff Hanger Run!

KCTC Group Runs

The KCTC currently has 15 weekly group runs, one class for beginning runners and another one starting next month, two intervals groups, marathon training and two half marathon training groups.  If you haven't joined us for one of these, we highly encourage you to.  The only rules we play by are the ones we make up when we are running!  We don't have rigid paces or distances. Check them out on our
