Dear RE families, Youth, and Volunteer Leaders at UUSS,

Garden Day fall fun!
Many thanks to Glory Wicklund for creating such a fun garden day for our RE children. Chips, salsa, lemonade, and garden games under the warm fall sun! We also appreciate the RE volunteers who helped to make it happen. Our UUrth Song CommUUinty Garden is now open for winter plots. Please contact me if you would like more information. In other garden news, Glory is soon stepping down into more of a maintenance role instead of a full organizer for our community garden. There are many roles and responsibilities to fill. Perhaps one or two generous RE families would like to learn more information about this unique and rewarding opportunity. Feel free to speak with me or reach out to Glory to discover the possibilities.

Congressman Ami Bera's visit
The UUSS RE children and youth received a powerful message from Dr. Ami Bera on Sunday, October 18th. Sitting with Rev Roger up front was pretty special! The famous sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me was shared in a short story. It is always great to be reminded of this!

Two services for all ages in November
Don't miss a chance to share a Sunday morning together in our planned services for all ages. We have two in November which means on these days there is no Religious Education. These services will be held on 11/1 and 11/22. Please still sign in at the RE Welcome Table on these days. Thanks!
Kids' Freedom Club
Our UUSS Kids' Freedom Club is open for others to join. New members should be in at least 3rd grade (based on parent discretion) and up through high school. The group works to raise awareness and funds to help end debt bondage and other forms of slavery around the world. Four UUSS folks will make a trip to India in November to visit some of the sites of Free the Slaves, the organization we support. We will bid farewell to them in service on Sunday, November 8th. Thank you.
