SOCIAL ACTION NETWORK

Do you remember the excitement of opening that new box of crayons on the first day of school? Recall the thrill of sporting that new backpack? For many of the families served by JCFS (Jewish Child and Family Services) the expense of preparing a child for the new school year is beyond their means. They struggle to pay rent and keep food on the table. These caring parents value education - they want to see their children enter the new school year prepared and proud. So BJBE's Early Childhood Center and Sisterhood are joining together to support the JCFS School Supply Drive.  A JCFS collection box is in the Tzedakah Nook. To make a monetary donation, or if you have questions, please contact Sharon SabinFor the month of July we will collect the following items:

Solid Colored Backpacks; Crayons/Pencils; Erasers/Glue Sticks; Folders; Washable Markers;Spiral Notebook/LooseLeaf Paper;

Rulers/ Scissors.

Benefit for RAIN-Uganda, Thursday, July 30, 7:30pm, Evanston Ecology Center, 2024 McCormick Blvd. with A-Zam-Ra. Enjoy heart-opening kirtan and Sufi chants in ancient Hebrew. All proceeds support RAIN-Uganda, and NGO doing HIV and cervical cancer screening education and prevention. Click here to reserve your tickets.

We are NOT collecting used clothing at this time.  However, we are collecting toiletries, batteries, hearing aids, eyeglasses, ink cartridges, and cell phones, in addition to the project for JCFS mentioned above.
