Greetings to each of you.   First let me say, "Thank you!"  Many thanks to you and your devoted parish families.  The 2015 Roe Memorial events were a tremendous success with a beautiful Roe Memorial Mass concelebrated by Bishops Farrell, Olson and Deshotel, and over 12,0000 people participating in the North Texas March for Life, led by Bikers for Life, one of whom was our own Bishop Kevin Farrell!  It was a truly inspirational day not only to remember the millions lost but also to celebrate the many victories for life over the last year.  Find pictures and videos of the events at prolifedallas.org/roe, and please send us your favorite pictures and video of the events to share!  And most importantly, please mark your calendars and save the date now to participate in the 2016 Roe Memorial events on January 16, 2016.

**If you have not already, please be sure to pick up the Roe Memorial yard signs from your parish office to return at the next Parish Pro-Life Coordinators Meeting (or bring them to the CPLC office at 14200 Midway, Suite 120, Dallas).  We numbered them this year so as to better track their return and hopefully reduce our costs next year.**

As we move forward, our next big event is The Bishop's 22nd Annual Catholic Pro-Life Dinner  on April 18 at the Irving Convention Center.  We are very excited to welcome award-winning recording artist Kathy Troccoli who will perform during the program and Catholic Answers Live host Patrick Coffin who will serve as Master of Ceremonies.  You can learn more about the dinner and reserve your tables now at prolifedallas.org/dinner

As always, we depend on your generous help to spread the word about this spectacular evening that raises critical funds for pro-life work in our diocese.  To that end, I hope you will be at the next  Parish Pro-Life Coordinators Meeting on February 21, 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Angels in Allen.  Promotional materials for the Bishop's Dinner will be distributed as part of the agenda.

Following the meeting, we will serve lunch and host a special training from 12:00 to 1 p.m. for the upcoming Catholic Faith in Action Advocacy Day on March 24 in Austin when Catholics across the state join our Bishops to advocate for policies promoting life, justice, charity and religious freedom.  The February 21 training will be presented by Jennifer Carr Allmon of the Texas Catholic Conference -- the public policy voice of the Texas Bishops.  Don't miss this chance to learn how you can participate in our democratic process and help defend the recent legislative advancesfor life which are under attack.  More information and registration for the training and Advocacy Day may be found at cathdal.org/advocacyday.

This month and next also include several opportunities for our youth including:

Please share these events with the parents and youth leaders in your parish.  Also this month is the first Rachel's Vineyard™ Retreat in English in 2015 on February 27.  Please hold the retreatants up in prayer.  You can learn more about how to promote this healing ministry in your parish here.

Our "Saint of the Month" is St. Bernadette.  On February 11, 1858, a beautiful lady dressed in white appeared to Bernadette Soubirous, a poor French peasant girl. This began a series of visions in which the lady identified herself with the words: "I am the Immaculate Conception."  Most of her family and the townspeople doubted Bernadette's story, but she held firm and never wavered. During interrogations Bernadette not only described the lady but also stated how she addressed her in the polite formal manner, vous.  The Holy Virgin appeared to a humble girl and treated her with dignity. Because of the apparitions, devotion to the rosary spread anew throughout all Europe and the world and the famous shrine of Lourdes stands today as a testament to their faith. Through Bernadette, the Blessed Mother revitalized and continues to revitalize the faith of millions of people.  Let us all, with that revitalized faith, pray the rosary often, asking Our Mother to intercede for us as we strive to return our society to a true culture of life.

May God strengthen our commitment to the pro-life cause and our love for one another.   And may He continue to bless you and your family. Thank you for all you do for Life

God bless,

David
