Ben's Buzz:

January 20, 2016

Thanks to the generous support of the B.F.C.C.P.S Parent Community Organization we were pleased to have our namesake Mr. Benjamin Franklin visit with students on Friday. You can read about the Historical Perspectives programs here on the web.

Did you know that BFCCPS has recently launched an official Facebook Page? If you are so inclined we hope that you'll like, follow and share the page to help grow our online audience. Please remember that the best way to find answers to the majority of common questions is to check the school calendar, the Forms and Flyers page or call the front office at 508-541-3434.

We are so looking forward to the Capstone Presentations this Thursday and Friday morning. The students and their advisors have been working so hard over the course of the past year on their Capstone Projects! This is an awesome opportunity to see the culmination of all four Pillars of our school in action. We are so proud of the students and can not wait to celebrate all that they have accomplished. The event is open to the public, so if you're available either morning we hope that you'll be able to join us.  We've just received exciting news that we will be joined by Representative Jeffrey Roy on Friday morning.

Our 8th Graders will be hosting their annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday morning from 9 to 11 at the Franklin Elks (1077 Pond Street, Franklin) for $5 per person with a $20 per family maximum.  Click here for more details. It's a fun way to support a great cause and fill your belly up before next Saturday's predicted snowstorm!

Sincerely,

Heather Zolnowski

STUDENT ASSEMBLIES:

MARC's bullying & cyber-bullying prevention programs for K-12 students are unique in that most services are delivered by trained graduate and undergraduate students from Bridgewater State University, in a high-status peer model. The assembly is designed to help students define and understand bullying, cyber-bullying and relational aggression. Students will gain a clearer understanding of the difference between fighting or conflict and bullying.

Online safety is discussed and real-life examples are presented to help illustrate the consequences of inappropriate online actions. Students are educated about the dangers of disclosing too much online, such as sending or posting inappropriate photos. Students will gain a sense of awareness about how serious and hurtful words and actions online can be and what happens online may be there forever. The presentation leaves students with some practical internet safety advice as well as concrete ideas of the best way to deal with bullies in school and online.
