Last Chance for TBC Break-Fast!

Sisterhood is once again planning to provide a sumptuous Break-Fast on Wednesday, September 23rd at 7:00 pm, immediately following Yizkor and Neilah services. All are welcome, but please RSVP to [email protected]  by September 16th so that we are able to plan accordingly. Please include your name, your number of guests, and how many are children 10 or younger.

Michael Heft Food & Miriam Messe Diaper Collection!

It is time once again for the food and diaper drive to help local food banks. Food will be collected at the Yom Kippur service. The items will be delivered to the Redding Food Pantry, Wilton Food Pantry, the Women's Center of Greater Danbury, and the Community Action Agency of Western Connecticut. Please do not include items that are past the "best used by date."  Thank you in advance for your generosity, and if you are able to help deliver to any of the locations please let me know. Jane Alexander, ( 203) 762-8605,  [email protected]. Click here to see items needed for the drive!

High Holy Days Giving!

The Temple incurs many additional expenses to create a warm and welcoming HHD experience.  Please consider a contribution to help cover the costs of the Bimah and lobby flowers or to defray the numerous costs associated with the holiday celebrations.   Use the contribution form here, and select the fund to indicate whether the donation is for the High Holy Days Appeal, Flowers or to cover other High Holy Day expenses.

Thanks to New TBC Town Ambassadors!

We are thrilled to announce our new program of Town Ambassadors who will be helping with Membership.   Thank you to our wonderful congregants who have volunteered to help us continue to build our TBC community:  Kiki Cahn (Weston), Jeanne Goldberg (Ridgefield), Mike and Marni Handel (Wilton), Beth and David Lewson (Redding),  Shannon McAvoy (Westport).  If you would like to get involved, please email Deborah List at [email protected]. We could particularly use another ambassador from Wilton.

Join Us for Sukkah Raising - Sunday, September 27

The Men's Club will be leading up the annual raising of our Sukkah on Sunday, September 27th at 10:00 am.  Please come and help us put together our Sukkah on the TBC side driveway.  We look forward to good spirits and a fun event.  All are welcome.  Bring your stepladder and tools (or not).  Contact Jeff Spector with any questions at [email protected]  or 203-956-6367.

RSVP for Sukkot Dinner, Havdalah, Film and Discussion - October 3

Our Crowd, the Ritual Committee and Adult Education invite all adult TBC members to join us on October 3rd at 6 pm for a Sukkot pot luck dinner, Havdalah service, and a screening of the recent  film, "A Woman in Gold", starring Helen Mirren and Ryan Reynolds.  We will serve dessert and look forward to a lively discussion after the film. Click here to RSVP and indicate what type of food you would like to contribute (vegetarian and fish only). We look forward to seeing you for a wonderful and celebratory evening.  Contact Ria Miller at [email protected] for any questions regarding the event.

Save the Date for Stop Hunger Now

Save the date! On Saturday, October 24, TBC will be participating as a congregation in the 5th annual Stop Hunger Now packaging event in Wilton. Last year we packaged over 160,000 meals that were sent to Haiti. TBC was well represented by about 90 volunteers.

Our goal is to package over 160,000 meals this year and raise $3500 as a Congregation that will fund 12,000 meals which will be sent to hungry children in developing countries. If you would like to support this event, you can send a check to TBC and note that it is for Stop Hunger Now. This year each meal costs $0.29 (an increase of 4 cents/meal) so $1.45 buys 5 meals, $15 buys 52 meals and $100 buys 345 meals -- still a really good deal.

The sign-up will be later in September and further details will be provided soon. Don't forget that children 5 and older can help (our 5-year-olds last year had a fantastic time and really contributed!). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Don Weber at [email protected].  If you would like to support this event, you can send a check to TBC and note that it is for Stop Hunger Now; or contribute using our online donation form and select "Stop Hunger Now/Tzedakah Fund."
