Computer Classes


Fundamentals of Email using Gmail:
Tuesday, May 26th at 9am

Learn email basics: How to create a Gmail account, compose mail, create contacts and groups, manage your mail, attach/open/save attachments 


Photo Workshop:
Tuesday, June 2nd at 9am

Bring your camera or device and a flash drive.  Learn to upload your photos and organize them by event to a flash drive.  You can also upload them to a commercial photo site, such as Shutterfly.


i-Workshops:

Tuesdays June 23rd through July 14th at 9am
  
Bring your iPad/phone to class and learn the basics of operating your device using iOS8.  Topics will include basic features and settings, using and managing your apps, photos, Siri, etc.  

Participants must have an iTunes account and know their password.   You are welcome to sit in on this class if you simply want to learn what iPads are all about.  

Weekly topics are as follows:

 
June 23: The basics:  settings, managing and organizing apps, Siri, handy tips
June 30: Internet searching, calendar feature, texting
July 7:  Emailing-add an account, email, attachments, manage mail
July 14: Camera and photo organization.  Bring a flashdrive if you want to move your pictures from device to free up memory space.

 


Hoopla, E-Books, and Zinio: 
Tuesday, July 21st at 9am

 

Bring your device and learn how to utilize the free services offered by the Ocean City Library for books, magazines and music/video.  We will access/use Zinio (magazines), Overdrive (books), and Hoopla (music/audio books/TV).  


You will need your device & password, your library card, and an Amazon account and password.  

 

 

No registration is required for these classes! 


For all courses we recommend students bring a USB flash drive to save their work.  USB flash drives will be available to purchase for $10.

Declutter Your World

Participants will be able to recognize signs of a clutter disorder,

and will learn new methods to change behavioral patterns which lead to
clutter disorders.
 

Participants will also learn to clear out the mental clutter
which prevents them from living the life they were meant to live.

Healthy Homes: Post Hurricane
 

Healthy Homes:
Creating a Healthy Home in the Aftermath of a Hurricane:

Saturday May 23rd at 10am


This one hour community education presentation will discuss the 7 Principles of Healthy Home, identified by the National Center for Healthy Housing. Participants will learn the process of safely cleaning up water-damaged/flooded homes as a result of hurricanes and major storms.
 

Trainees will learn critical skills and increase their knowledge of the seven principles of healthy housing, while also becoming inspired to serve as thought leaders, resources, conveners, and advocates in their communities.

 

TARGET AUDIENCE: 
General public, parent groups, homeowners, do-it-
yourself-ers, faith-based organizations and community groups.

 

Attendees must reside or work in Atlantic or Cape May County.
