Patrick Hopkins
Patrick Hopkins, NRO 2015
Cellist Patrick Hopkins is an active soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player having performed in venues such as Alice Tully Hall, Avery Fischer Hall, Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Merkin Hall, The New World Center, and Symphony Space.  He made his Lincoln Center debut in 2008 performing Haydn's D Major Concerto with the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra and has appeared three times as soloist with the Fairbanks Symphony.  In July 2015 he was soloist/principal cellist with the National Repertory Orchestra performing Schumann's Cello Concerto.  Mr. Hopkins is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Rutgers University as a scholarship student of Jonathan Spitz.  He also serves as a co-adjutant at Rutgers. Blake-Anthony Johnson
Blake-Anthony Johnson, NRO 2014 & 2015
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Blake-Anthony has performed as a guest artist and soloist with the Emory Chamber Music Society of Atlanta and Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra. Described as a "significant talent" by Lynn Harrell, he has had a multi-faceted career as a performer, collaborator, recording artist, and educator. He is the former chair and founding member of the Music Education and Youth Initiative, which served underprivileged children in the greater Metropolitan area of Nashville, Tennessee.  Blake-Anthony has been a prizewinner in the MTNA Young Artist Competition, the World Competition; the Daniel Rains, and Brevard Music Festival Concerto competitions.  He is currently attending the Manhattan School of Music studying with Alan Stepansky.   Read more...
