Words of Hope is Caritas of Austin's largest fundraising event featuring an author whose story reflects thier work and mission. Caritas of Austin's 8th annual Words of Hope Dinner will be held on September 10 at ACL Live at the Moody Theater. This year's featured speaker is Bobby Bones, the most popular country music DJ in America with over 3.5 million daily listeners for his nationally syndicated, award-winning Bobby Bones Show. Bobby was raised by a single mother for much of his life, and was the first in his family to graduate high school and college. He is a proud "food stamp and welfare kid" that found his way out of his tough circumstances through hard work and education. He believes every small positive decision leads to larger life altering ones.
Stories like Bobby's are a great example of the true face of poverty and homelessness that we see here in Austin. And, these most vulnerable families are who Caritas of Austin serves. This year's Words of Hope will shed light on these families and how Caritas helps them on their journey from crisis to self-sufficiency. Tickets for Words of Hope can be purchased here . Caritas of Austin supports people on their journey out of crisis toward self-sufficiency through housing, food, education, and employment services. Each year, our services intersect with thousands of individual and families to help empower people toward the life they want. To learn more visit www.caritasofaustin.org.
