The Traverse City Figure Skating Club traveled to Brighton, Michigan July 30 - August 2 for the National Showcase Figure Skating Competition and brought home medals in two categories; Production Ensemble and Preliminary Duet.

The club's ensemble took 2nd Place with their rendition of the classic story of the
Wizard of Oz, titled "Wizard of Ahhhs." The team consisted of 20 skaters coached by Heidi Masse and Lauren Tondreau. "They were absolutely amazing and we were so happy to take second place in the country," said Coach Masse.

Lifelong friends Lauren Beeman, 11, and Rachel Tolfree, 12, competed together in the Preliminary Duet flight, taking 4th Place. Coached by Lauren Tondreau, the duo performed to the song "Never Tango with an Eskimo."
