DEERFIELD, MASS. (September 15, 2015)---Historic Deerfield is now accepting entries for its third annual
Heritage Recipe Baking Contest. Sponsored by
King Arthur Flour's Flagship Store in Norwich, VT, this year's contest will focus exclusively on holiday cookie recipes. The holiday season will soon be upon us, and that means ovens will be heating up to start baking holiday treats, including what could be called the quintessential holiday dessert: the cookie! From cookie swaps to cookies for Santa, the holiday cookie holds an important place on the holiday menu, and many recipes are handed down through generations. Do you have a favorite cookie that your grandmother passed down? Do you have a great story about making a special cookie for the holidays? Share your recipe and your story, and you could win in the Third Annual Heritage Recipe Baking Contest.
The public is invited to submit their best family cookie recipe along with a story for why it is special. Prizes will be awarded in three categories: best story, most creative/unique, and best recipe. Winners will receive a $50 gift card to the Baker's Catalogue/kingarthurflour.com and a copy of King Arthur Flour's The Baker's Companion Cookbook.
Fifteen finalists will be chosen to bring their cookie to Historic Deerfield on
Saturday, December 5, 2015, to be judged. The deadline for entries is
