Episcopal education is a very important facet of our diocesan ministry. I am always reminded of that fact this time of year. Another school term is about to end. Graduation at St. Andrew's School is tomorrow. I spoke in the school chapel there just a few days ago. St. Anne's Episcopal School will be graduating a new class in early June. This morning I attended the final school chapel at St. David's Pre-School. Similar events are happening at the other pre-school programs sponsored by our churches around Delaware. At heart all our schools are a witness to our hope for the future. I am profoundly grateful to all who give so much to makes these ministries possible. They deserve our appreciation and respect. In just a few weeks Camp Arrowhead will be opening for another summer season. Camp Director Walt LaFontaine reports registrations are significantly ahead of last summer. This is good news and an affirmation of how Camp Arrowhead touches so many lives. Thank you for your support and help sending our young people to Camp Arrowhead. Remember that we still have space in most camp sessions. To register or to learn more about camp visit their website: www.camparrowhead.net Don't forget that the Diocesan Summer Fest is coming up on Saturday, June 13 at Killen's Pond State Park near Harrington. This is a wonderful way to enjoy fellowship with Episcopalians from around Delaware. The setting is always beautiful and the food is good. I look forward to seeing you there. For more information or to register check out our diocesan website: www.dioceseofdelaware.net Remember that Memorial Day is coming up this weekend. While we all enjoy this national holiday, I also hope that everyone will take time to remember those who have given their lives in service to our country. This coming Sunday I will be visiting the Episcopal Church of Saints Andrew & Matthew, Wilmington. Faithfully, Wayne Wright, Bishop of Delaware |
