The kitchen angels are back in the kitchen!
Tonight's menu will include Simon and Garfunkel chicken, long grain wild rice mix, and green bean casserole. The kids' meal will be chicken fingers, long grain wild rice, and green beans.

GroupLink - LifeGroup Launch Event
Sunday, January 24 at 6:30pm
LifeGroups exist to help people connect relationally and grow spiritually through intentional times of fellowship, study, and support together. At GroupLink, our LifeGroup launch event, you'll be able to meet other people interested in getting in a LifeGroup, talk to those already in one, and find a group that fits you in person. Childcare will also be provided.

Our first ANNUAL special needs training is open to all current volunteers and those interested in volunteering. Special needs curriculum, strategies, and safe sanctuary requirements will be covered in this training.

Girlology with Dr. Angela Walker
Sunday, January 31 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm
In this mom-daughter program, we'll cover growth & development, bras & bra shopping, hygiene & hair management, nutrition, menstruation, feminine care products, moods & emotions, and respect for self & others. This program is offered for 4th - 6th grade girls and their moms or mom-substitutes. Registration includes a copy of Girlology's book There's Something New About You by Melisa Holmes, MD and Trish Hutchison, MD.

Coffeehouse Fundraiser for Guatemala
February 7 at 5:30pm
Come enjoy a night of coffee, music, dessert, and art in support of the student mission team heading to Guatemala! All donations for the evening will be used to support the students and their work with the children of Guatemala.

Student Ministry Events

IGNITE - All students 9th - 12th grade, please join us on Sunday nights in The Shed at 5:30pm for dinner, fellowship, worship and small groups.
THE MIDDLE - All students 6th - 8th grade, join us TONIGHT and every Wednesday night at 6:30pm. We will meet in The Shed for fellowship and worship and then break out into our small groups.
Winter Event at Stars & Strikes
January 18
Monday, January 18 is a student holiday, so come hang with HM Student Ministry for a fun day with friends! We'll meet at the church at 9:30am and head over to Stars & Strikes for bowling, pizza, games, and a ton of fun! We'll return to the church around 2:00pm for pickup. Pizza lunch is included as well as bowling and games. We need parents/adults to volunteer to drive for us as well! If you volunteer, we'll pay for you to play! 2016 Confirmation Retreat
March 11 - 13, 2016
Calling all participants of the 2015-16 confirmation class! Join us as we venture to Lake Junaluska Retreat and Conference Center. We'll meet on Friday at 4:15pm and spend the weekend learning about the Christian faith. Duffy Robbins will be our speaker for the weekend. Cost includes room, transportation, and meals for the weekend. Plan to eat before dropoff on Friday or bring a sack lunch. We'll travel by bus to the retreat and spend our weekend together deepening our faith. Sign up at

D-Now Weekend for 7th-12th Graders
March 4 - March 6
All 7th-12th graders should mark their calendars for March 4th & 5th. We'll meet at HMUMC at 5pm on Friday, March 4. We'll be attending the Disciple Now retreat hosted at Crosspointe church. We'll be staying in host homes on Friday night and returning to D-Now on Saturday morning. Cost includes transportation, meals (Friday dinner and 3 meals on Saturday), a t-shirt and tons of fun with HMStudentMin friends. We'll share and learn about being His disciples, grow in our faith, and have FUN! Please visit our website at
