VISION 2025:
Circle Sessions Begin Next Week

Ryan Kieta
Community Developer

In November, JARI's Community Development Department facilitated a public visioning session as part of Johnstown's Vision 2025
Community Development Program. Over 150 Johnstowners brainstormed community development project ideas within three areas: Strong Sense of Community; Vibrant and Open Local Economy; and Life-Sustaining Landscapes.

Next week, a series of circle sessions will be held to advance the program. Local citizens are invited to attend the session of their choice. The goal for these events is to take the ideas brainstormed by the public in November and begin the process of building capture teams around them. Capture teams are groups of community members who work collaboratively towards obtainable goals.

Please see the "Upcoming Events" panel on the side of this newsletter for all session information.  Questions can be directed to [email protected].

INFORMATIONAL WORKSHOP

Lenora Leasure
JARI PTAC
Program Manager

JARI PTAC will hold an informational workshop on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the JARI Center for Business Development located at 160 Jari Drive, Johnstown, PA.  The workshop, presented by Tim Anthony Di Guiseppe, CPA, of TD Government Solutions, Inc., will introduce attendees to what constitutes a compliant "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics" for company policy and employee handbooks. He will also discuss the business practices and procedures that must be followed to do a job with integrity. Attendees will then learn how to use the code in making correct decisions and reporting suspected unethical situations or potential violations if they arise.  A question and answer session will follow.

Sign-in will begin at 8:00 am with the workshop to commence promptly at 8:30 am. Any business interested in learning about the "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics" or selling to the federal, state, or local government is invited and encouraged to attend. Registration is free and the deadline is Friday, March 11, 2016.

If you would like to register or would like more information, please contact Lenora Leasure, JARI PTAC Program Manager, at (814) 254-4022 or [email protected]
