Dental Assistant Program. CTE is offering a Dental Assisting Program for high school students interested in learning more about his growing profession. Click for flyer

LLU introduces students to the health professions. The My Campus LLU program exposes minority high school students to the health professions. See details below in the Students & Parents section.

For students interested in Nursing. Azusa Pacific University nursing program is offering information sessions for interested persons. See details below in the Students & Parents section. 

White Coat Internship opportunity. Don't let your students miss this rare chance to shadow a doctor or other health professional this Spring break! See details below in the Students & Parents section. 
STUDENTS & PARENTS
WHITECOATGet your white coat! The White Coat Student Internship program will be available to area health pathway high school students this spring break. This is a one week (30 hour) commitment and truly a rare opportunity to:
  • shadow a physician or health care provider
  • take and record patient vital signs
  • assist with the clerical processing of patient medical documents
  • scribe, file and update patient medical records

The acceptance process includes an application form, letter of recommendation, service hours verification, an interview, verification of health records, and training. Those who complete the internship program will receive a white coat during a special recognition ceremony. The deadline to apply is March 4, so you don't want to procrastinate.

Bank offers summer internship program. Bank of America Foundation's Student Leaders Program is accepting applications for the 2016 season. The program is open to high school juniors and seniors and include an 8-week summer PAID internship program and attendance at the week-long, all expenses paid, Student Leaders Summit in Washington D.C. MYCAMPUSLLULLU introduces students to the health professions.  This program exposes minority high school students to the health professions in hopes that it will increase the representation of minorities in the field. My Campus LLU days are particularly unique because not only do they have the opportunity to engage in activities that will make them more familiar with the health professions offered at Loma Linda University, but also the opportunity to personally engage in one-on-one interaction with Loma Linda University students. Students must apply to this program. The following documents have been provided for this purpose:

Volunteer in a hospital! The St. Bernardine Medical Center Stepping Stones Program will host an information night on January 20th for students interested in volunteering in a hospital setting. 

APUNURSINGAPU invites you. Azusa Pacific University nursing program is offering informational sessions in February and April on their undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. For more information and to register, see flyer

Change the course of your life. The Career Institute is a great go-to source for free classes, instruction and training in many health-related careers as well as life-skill instruction. See the attached flyer for a list of their current offerings. 

Harvey Mudd homework hotline lends a helping hand.
The Homework Hotline provides free, over-the-phone tutoring in math and science for students in grades 4-12. The hotline is offered FREE to callers. Our tutors are highly qualified Harvey Mudd students selected for their technical expertise and communication skills, and all complete ongoing tutor training. Math and science tutoring is also available in Spanish (Sunday - Tuesday),   Mandarin (Monday and Tuesday) and Tagalog (Monday).  You can reach a tutor by dialing 1.877.827.5462  Sunday through Thursday between 6 and 9 p.m.


Get your GED. There is a website that offers FREE GED practice test. Subjects tested include math, reading, science, language and more. Take the practice test as often as you like! 

Reach Out NPP offers parenting classes.
The winter schedule of parenting classes start in January.  These are free classes for any parent with a child between the ages of 0-5 or pregnant moms. See the attached schedule for a class near you.
