 SAVE THE DATE!

Help the Chamber retain its 350+ new members gained during the 2013 Membership Drive at a fun, competitive event!

The chamber more than exceeded its goal of having 1,000 members by its 100th Anniversary. We couldn't have done it without your support. Now we are asking for volunteers for a short retention drive from 3:30 - 5 PM on Tuesday, September 29, at the Chamber Office.

We'll provide coffee, snacks, and cool prizes. YOU bring your co-workers & other volunteers. If you were a Team Chair or Team Captain during the Membership Drive, contact your Team Members. Sign them up and bring them too! One hour of your time can help us reach the goal of retaining 1,000 Chamber Members. The more volunteers we have, the more successful we will be, and the more fun we will have! Do you know of a new business that needs to be recruited? Call them up during our Membership Retention Drive. Not only are we looking to renew our current Members but we are trying to recruit NEW Members too!

Call your friends. Sign Up. Come. And never underestimate the power of YOUR Chamber of Commerce!

CLTCC BREAKS GROUND ON NEW ALEXANDRIA MAIN CAMPUS LOCATION

More than 200 people turned out Tuesday to celebrate Central Louisiana Technical Community College's ground breaking of its new Alexandria Main Campus in Downtown Alexandria. The new campus is being developed on two blocks of property between Jackson and Murray streets.

"We believe you'll start to see construction in January or February, with an opening for the fall semester of 2017," said CLTCC Chancellor Jimmy Sawtelle.

CENTRAL LOUISIANA'S FIRST
FAIRFIELD INN & SUITES BY MARRIOTT
BREAKS GROUND

Work has begun preparing the land for the 109-room Fairfield Inn & Suites, located on South MacArthur Drive in front of the former McKesson Building.

"This market needed it," said Chris Patel, president of Royal Lodging, which is developing the Fairfield Inn. "There's too much old inventory. The business we're losing in this town is not because of a lack of rooms, it's because there aren't enough premium rooms. Five days a week, your premium brands are sold out."

The Fairfield Inn will cater to guests staying 1 to 3 nights and have an average room rate of about $140. It will include function and meeting space designed to lure 100 to 200 person events.
