October  2015
 Welcome Georgia Heirs Property
Law Center Staff

The Georgia Heirs Property Law Center (a project of Georgia Appleseed) welcomes Skipper StipeMaas and Claude C.  Davis II  to the staff.

With StipeMaas' and Davis' outreach, the Georgia Heirs Property Law Center will  help low and moderate income owners of heirs property secure title to their land and develop equity in their operations through legal education and prevention  and resolution of heirs property issues. In the near future, we will be hiring an attorney to specialize in rural  heirs property to secure farmers' livelihood.

To learn more about this project, go to www.gaappleseed.org. The updated farm owners' handbook, "Rooted and Grounded," is also available.

ACYL Campaign

The Atlanta Council of Younger Lawyers' 2015 Associates Campaign has begun. Founded in 2000 as a grass-roots effort by local attorneys to promote pro bono awareness and participation, the campaign  has raised over $500,000 for Atlanta pro bono legal services organizations.

Join our Young Professionals  Council and help support our work for increased justice by contributing to Georgia Appleseed by  downloading/completing the donation form by Oct. 31.
