Leadin g By Example

On August 6 th and 7 th , 10 members of Gloria Dei attended the Global Leadership Summit (GLS) at San Jose's Church on the Hill. 
The GLS is a ministry event of Willow Creek Church in South Barrington, IL.  For more than 20 years, they have been sponsoring this event to help the Christian community to build better leaders......in our churches, in our workplaces, in our community and in our families.

 Project Update

 

We are working on getting the restrooms in the sanctuary back in working order as soon as possible. It's been a group effort to demo, select paint, flooring, wall tile, sinks, faucets and lighting fixtures!

A special thanks to those who have participated in getting it done!!

  • Don Rinerson for storing toilets, vanities, faucets
  • Dennis, who has done the bulk of the dirty work
  • Robert/Nick, who have smashed and disposed of the old toilets, etc. (We call them "the smashers!")

  • Kandra who uses her expertise and skill in coordinating choices and giving advice
  • Libby who keeps the charge card busy!!

Things Are Happening
 
You will start to see changes around Gloria Dei as we prepare for the Renovation of Luther Hall. 
Construction on a temporary wall in the Early Learning Center began August 29th and will be finished sometime in early September. The wall will separate the Early Learning center into two spaces. One will house the pre-school program while the other half will be used as office space during the renovation process.
