Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce Newsletter
August 2015
A Word from the General Manager

Greetings Everyone ,

I hope you all have been enjoying the summer and the extreme hot weather! I cannot believe that it is August already!! I had a great month off, but now it is time to get back to work as we have a busy couple of months ahead of us!

We have many different events coming up and there are even a couple of new events in the works. On September 23, 2015 the Aboriginal Chamber will be hosting the First Peoples Economic Growth Fund Luncheon at the Radisson Hotel, in which we will hear different businesses sharing their success stories.

On October 8, 2015 the ACC will be co-hosting the Understanding Urban Reserves Event with the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce. This event will be held at the RBC Convention Centre and will definitely be an interesting discussion!  October will be a busy month, as we have another event planned on October 21, 2015 which is the Winnipeg Blue Bomber Luncheon featuring Wade Miller the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Winnipeg Football Club. To see more about any of these events, or if you would like to register, there is more information included in the newsletter below.

Also, on November 20, 2015 the ACC will be hosting our annual Gala Dinner, which will be located at the new Club Regent Event Centre. Registration will be soon be opened and for sponsorship opportunities, see the memo below in the news section.

In other news, I would like to apologize in regards to some of the payments that were made to the ACC. After we moved to our new office, we have been experiencing issues with our mail forwarding and we are still missing some mail. I apologize to those members who have mistakenly received an invoice for overdue payments. We hope to have this issue resolved as soon as possible!

Have fun and enjoy the rest of your summer!

Gloria Spence

NOTICE TO ALL ACC MEMBERS!

If you have not already,  please take a few minutes to complete our membership satisfaction survey.

It should take no more than 5 minutes and it will not only benefit us, but will also benefit you as well!!

ATTENTION MEMBERS!!

Our summer student Darion Smith has been working on a new membership registration form, which will require more in depth detail.  With membership contact information, the Aboriginal Chamber has noticed a lot of the time is that people do come and go and some organizations will forget to update their contact information; therefore our records are  not always up to date. Our new registration form with require more than one contact person for this reason specifically, so if someone gets promoted or leaves a job, we will still have a contact person within the organization. Other times, the contact person is not always the same as the invoice recipient or the payroll department, in which their contact information will help our finance manager when it comes to invoices and payments.

Once this project is complete, both summer students Darion and Clara will begin calling all the members to update their contact information. This is just a notice to all members, to start thinking about who their second contact person will be or who the invoice recipient will be.

Thanks in advance!
