Elevation2015 is a one-day conference taking place on Aug. 13 celebrating the fastest growing sport in North America--road cycling and the passion that it inspires.

Ride4UnitedWay Gran Fondo is an epic bike ride and fundraiser taking place on Aug. 16 that will get you moving across the region!

TAKE BACK THE LAKE
Spend a fun day outdoors and enjoy the beauty of Lake Scugog during Take Back the Lake on Aug. 15! Presented by Port Perry Stand Up Paddling, this fun-filled event will feature an exciting paddle boat race, street sales and a craft brewery festival at Old Flame Brewery. Amateurs and professionals of all ages are invited to participate and compete in a variety of categories. Grab some friends and register a team today!

KIDS IN THE SQUARE
Bring the kids out for a fun-filled evening out at Heritage Square in Ajax for Kids in the Square, taking place each Wednesday this summer at 7 p.m. The evening will feature an array of children's entertainers and activities for the whole family to enjoy. Admission is free for all, so bring a chair to the Square to enjoy the festivities!
UXBRIDGE
DAY OUT WITH THOMAS
All aboard! Bring the family out to the Uxbridge Train Station, ride the train with Thomas the Tank Engine and experience Thomas and Friends themed entertainment including storytelling, face painting, magicians, a petting zoo, arts and crafts and an opportunity to meet Sir Topham Hatt, the Controller of the Railway!
Day Out With Thomas will be held Aug. 14 to 16 and Aug. 21 to 23. Tickets are $25 plus HST.
CLARINGTON
BACON, BEER AND CIDER FESTIVAL
Celebrate all things delicious at the 2015 Bacon, Beer and Cider Festival taking place on Aug. 29 and enjoy a fun afternoon of food, drink, live music and of course--bacon! Sample savory treats such as bacon-wrapped onion rings or opt for something sweeter with delights like chocolate bacon mousse and bark. After satisfying your bacon craving, sample some of the local breweries at the event. Admission is $12.
BROCK
BEAVER RIVER TRAIL RIDE
Grab your bike and cycle for a good cause on Aug. 15 at the Beaver River Trail Ride, supporting the United Way in Durham Region. This scenic 70- kilometre ride will start and end at the Beaverton/Thorah Community Centre, and will be on gravel trails. Registration is $20 plus processing fees, with all proceeds going to agencies which provide food support in Brock, Scugog and Uxbridge.
