Below are the Pegasus classes offered this year for students in grades one and two. Registration can now be done online and families receive a discount when registering for three or more classes at once (whether same child or siblings). Remember, Kopernik members always get a discount!

Pegasus Classes for Grades 1 & 2
Star Stories
Saturday, November 14
9 a.m. to noon
Does your child know there is a dragon in the northern sky? Can he or she find the beautiful princess or the brave hunter? Turn off the TV and let the stars entertain your child! Young stargazers will love the stories in the stars, especially when they can find those stars on a map and in the sky. Students will make their own glow-in-the-dark constellations to take home!

Chemistry for Kids
Friday, February 12
9 a.m. to noon
Students in this c
lass are invited to discover the world of Chemistry. In Kopernik's laboratories, they will use chemistry to create cool stuff such as slime and bouncy balls, and they will investigate chemical reactions, watching products change color and fizz! This will be great fun for young scientists who love to experiment.

Shocking Experience
Saturday, April 2
9 a.m. to noon
Students will produce electricity using common household items! They will create voltaic batteries, turning chemical energy into electrical energy that will provide the power to light up an LED. Students then will create several electric circuits using LEDs and finally, build different projects with Snap CircuitĀ® electronic project kits.

Why Do Animals Do What They Do?

Has your child
ever wondered why zebras have stripes or how a bat can see at night? Join us for a day of activities and learning about interesting animal adaptations. Students will create their own animal and describe how it has to adapt to live here!

Pegasus classes are offered on weekends, school holidays, and occasional evenings throughout the school year. The program is named for the mythological winged-horse Pegasus, symbolizing the beauty, strength, and freedom of each individual to dream big and reach for the stars.
