AMCA Washington Conference

From Becky Cline, 4/8/2015

Hello Folks,

Are you going to the AMCA Washington meetings?  We need you there!

We only have 9 registrants from California representing only 5 districts.  (see attached)

Now is the time to reserve your room and send in your registration if you have not already done so.  There is no charge for registration but we need attendance numbers to plan for meals and seating.

We also need to plan for visits to key legislators so our message is received in the appropriate committees and houses.

Please register as soon as possible so attendees can coordinate appointments.

THANKS!

I hope to see you there,

Becky Cline

CDPH kdr Resistance Testing Program For 2015

To: Local Vector Control Agencies

CDPH-VBDS has developed the capacity to test Culex pipiens and Culex quinquefasciatus mosquitoes for kdr-mediated pyrethroid resistance.  In 2014, many agencies submitted mosquitoes to CDPH for testing and we are pleased to announce that we are providing this service again for the 2015 season.

Interested agencies will collect mosquitoes from locations with either previous control failures or from other locations of interest. In 2015, CDPH will only accept individual mosquitoes for testing as these results provide the most detailed information on the resistance profile of a population.  Pools will no longer be accepted.  The fee for testing will remain the same at $10 per mosquito.

Please click here for introductory information and the submission form.  Submissions can be made from April 15 to November 15, 2015.

Please feel free to contact me at Melissa.Yoshimizu@cdph.ca.gov for further information or with any questions.

Thank you,

Melissa
