Have fun, get fit, make new friends...play more TENNIS!

Happy July, Rockingham County tennis fans,

Summer 2015 RC Tennis programs are in full swing.  Find children and families playing with our coaches, volunteers, and interns at Eaglemania Summer Camp at Rockingham Community College in Wentworth, at Family Play Days at Carlyle Lewis courts in Madison and at weekly Kids Tennis Clubs at FIVE summer day camps. Check the EVENTS CALENDAR on our webpage to see where we are each day and stop by to see the fun.

Are you looking for a fun family activity for a gathering in your neighborhood, church, or school program?  Give RC Tennis a call to have the "tennis-mobile" with youth tennis equipment, volunteers, and FUN arrive to be part of your event.

In July, you'll find us parked at Betsy-Jeff Penn 4H Education Center, Di'lishi Frozen Yogurt Bar, MMRC Summer Camp, the Community Walk for Get Fit Eden and walking in the July 4 Eden Fun Parade.

MEET THREE RC TENNIS SUMMER INTERNS

S arah Cochran  is 16 years old and is a rising senior at Rockingham County High School.  She has been playing tennis since she was in the 7th grade, playing for her middle school and high school teams.

She plays tennis every chance she gets.  This is Sarah's second summer helping RC Tennis to instill a love for tennis in the community.

Matthew Lacoya a rising senior at McMichael High School, is 17 years old, and lives in Stokesdale. He has been an active participant in sports, including swimming and tennis.  He joined the school tennis team his junior year and looks forward to playing his senior year, too.

Over the past three summers he has volunteered at Camp Carefree, and church activities such as Spiritus and Carolina across Connection.

Thomas Fish was born in Eden but has spent about half his life in Sylva, west of Asheville.  He and his brother Joseph, 6, are spending the summer with their grandparents, Ann Fish of Eden, and Larry and Delores Trent of Reidsville.

Thomas will be in seventh grade next year at Scott's Creek Elementary School and his favorite subject is science. He participated in the tennis program last summer and says he "liked it a lot." He is excited to be a middle school intern this summer.

On Fridays, at Reidsville Family YMCA, Reidsville

More photos by Ann Fish of our first week of Kids Tennis Club are posted on our Facebook page.
