Public Policy Update: AB 47 "The Preschool for All Act of 2015"

As summarized by Early Edge California, "AB 47 ensures access to the State Preschool Program in the year before kindergarten for all low-income 4 year olds who aren't enrolled in transitional kindergarten, and whose parents wish to enroll them. In response to committee concerns about cost, bill author Assemblymember McCarty has committed to amend the bill to address these concerns.

Once the bill is released from suspense, it will head to a vote on the Senate Floor, followed by a final vote of the Assembly for concurrence. It will then be sent to Governor Brown for his signature before the September 30 deadline."
