Teachers serve a vital role throughout the Scientist in Residence program. Each teacher is paired with a single graduate student Fellow and is expected to provide essential teaching support. In return, teachers are provided with a financial stipend (when available) and valuable scientific resources for the development of innovative curriculum.

Students (both boys and girls) in grades 3-12 are invited to submit an essay about how they would protect the environment and the safety, health, and well-being of the public as a responsible engineer.
ISEA Texas defines informal science education as providing unique learning environments that increase appreciation and understanding of science, mathematics, and technology and their applications through voluntary and often self-directed experiences for individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Pre-school, grade school and high school STEM teachers, along with educators from other disciplines, will be able to take full-credit engineering-education courses for free this spring and summer thanks to a $100,000 sponsorship from Google Inc. to the University of St. Thomas School of Engineering.
A Novel Way to Teach Kids About Engineering
One recent morning, at a public school in Malden, Massachusetts, north of Boston, teams of third graders rushed around programming sensors on computers, wiring them to motors, digging into bins of Legos and gears, and rummaging through boxes of paper towel rolls, egg cartons, and pipe cleaners. Their mission was to protect a baby turtle from a dog-a beloved, mischievous black Lab named Tornado, the title character of a novel they had read for class.
ACT Launches Dual-Enrollment Initiative
ACT researchers have found that high school graduates who enter college with dual-enrollment credits are more likely to complete a four-year degree in less time than those without the early credits. It's part of the reason why ACT is launching a dual-enrollment initiative to increase the number of high school students in those courses.
