Farley Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation History of Success
Crain's recognized the program for its outstanding progress in start-ups

Michael Marasco, Director of the Farley Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and MEM Professor, has been recognized for the start-ups his center has helped to develop. FCEI is dedicated to evolving engineering beyond the application of the sciences to the creation of businesses that capitalize on innovations. The center is tied to the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science, but the participants are from all over Northwestern's campus. Farley has created 10 start-ups since its creation and Marasco expects five more to come out within the next one to two years.

Our Second Annual MEM Industry Night keynote speaker, Zack Johnson of Syndio, was a Farley participant as well. Johnson co-founded his tech company before graduating under Marasco's guidance. Syndio's products optimize internal human resources and technology implementation workflows.

According to the article, the start-ups Farley has helped to produce are worth over $500 million.
