Speaking at the eWomen Network Conference in Dallas, I Met My New Friend Danno of BACA, Bikers Against Child Abuse

I just came back from speaking about sponsorship at the eWomen Network Conference in Dallas. One of the highlights of the conference was meeting the men and women of BACA, Bikers Against Child Abuse.

BACA - Bikers Against Child Abuse

eWomen Network Foundation chooses deserving non-profits for donation and this year it was BACA.

Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA) creates a safer environment for abused children. They lend their physical and emotional support and stand by ready to shield these children from further abuse.

Power of the Teddy Bear

Check out the teddy bear I'm holding. This is critical to healing the abused child. The bear is empowered with hugs from all of the BACA members and then given to the child as a protector.

Anytime the child feels scared and feels the need for the presence of their new BACA family, the child can call upon the bikers to go to the child's house, accompany them to court and provide the necessary reassurance to feel safe and protected. One abused girl who was helped by BACA called them her "leather wall."

I'm looking forward to helping BACA get some great corporate sponsors.

Do You Need to Be a Non-Profit to Get Sponsors?

One of the Biggest Myths about Sponsorship is That You Need to Be a Non-Profit Charity

I've always been a for-profit business and many of my for-profit clients have sponsors. eWomen Network is a for-profit business and their sponsors include American Express, Life Reimagined by AARP, Liberty Mutual, Infusionsoft and UPS.

That being said, the savvy non-profit charities have mastered the art of corporate sponsorship. Just think about Make a Wish Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Susan G. Komen and my charitable partner, Junior Achievement.
