Laurie Jacob-The Lord's Prayer Revisited

Community Events
St. Louis Association Missouri Mid-South Conference: A Weekend of Vision and Reflection

On the year anniversary of the death of Michael Brown, you are invited to a day of reflection with UCC General Minister and President-Elect, Rev. Dr.John Dorhauer.

At the 2015 General Synod, Dr. Dorhauer called on the UCC "to be adaptive and transformative...It's in our genetic material to build relationships across the divide. We are the people of the still-speaking God...We can make the Gospel relevant again and let go of those things that impede our faithful proclamation of that Gospel. Our possessive attachment to whiteness is the biggest impediment to our achieving the vision of Shalom, to our becoming the people of God that we are called to become."

Joke

A girl sent twenty different puns to her friends, with the hope that at least ten of the puns would make them laugh. But no pun in ten did!

Inspiration

What you see outside of you is a reflection of what you see inside of you, and if you're one of those people who sees only problems, darkness, and despair, that's all there is ever going to be. But if you are one of those people who sees hope, opportunity, and love, then you can be somebody who makes a difference. -Cory Booker

Join us this Sunday for worship, education and much more at our Traditional Worship at 9:30am! Our scripture texts are Psalm 130 and Ephesians 4:25-5:2 with a sermon entitled HALT - Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired. Both the psalm and the letter to the people and church of Ephesus feel they could have been written today. The encouragement and advice and blessing are much needed today as they were then. Join us as we are even more intentional about the ways that we are disciples and the church!

Our Informal Worship Service is going on location....a Field Trip! We are going to worship with our UCC siblings at Christ the King UCC in North County - 11370 Old Halls Ferry Rd, Florissant, MO 63033. We are grateful that John Dorhauer, newly called General Minister and President of our United Church of Christ, will be the preacher. When we responded to the invitation, Pastor Traci Blackmon said, "Would LOVE to have you!  Plenty of good room!!!"

Feel free to meet us there at CtKUCC or carpool from PUCC at 10:00am, 10:15am or 10:30am (it's about a 20 minute drive up I-270). If you'd like to secure a spot in someone else's car, please let Kevin know ([email protected]). We look forward to worshipping with our siblings at Christ the King UCC ... all are invited!
