Natural Resources Canada New Promotional Products

In an effort to support the delivery network in promoting Natural Resources Canada housing programs, NRCan have been working on a number of promotional products in the last fiscal year, and these are now available to you and your network of builders and advisors.

We are celebrating the 10th Anniversary of ENERGY STAR? for New Homes!  Join the celebration, and make this the best year ever. ENERGY STAR for New Homes version 12.6 has been released, and includes updates on windows requirements. Please visit the Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) Housing Division members only Resource Centre HERE or talk to your service organization for further information.

Upcoming Builder Training 
 

 

  

ENERGY STAR Workshops have been updated. Here are some if the new things we will be covering:  

Version 12.4
  • The application of builder option packages to MURBs has been added to all existing and newly added builder option packages
Version 12.5
  • Provisions for P.9-11-tested combined space and water heating systems
  • Addition of an alternate core BOP selection and BOP options for attached houses (excluding semi-detached) and multi-unit residential buildings
  • Increased number of P.9-11 tested combined space and water heating systems BOP options for detached and semi-detached houses
Update on Windows and Glazing

Version 4.0 of the ENERGY STAR technical specifications for windows, doors and skylights became effective February 1, 2015

Among the key changes are:
  • Reduction in the number of climate zones from four to three
  • Re-naming of the climates zones using numbers instead of letters, and;
  • An increase in the energy performance levels, including a new maximum leakage requirement

CEEA's 20th Anniversary to pay tribute to Buckley & Crandlemire

To celebrate the advances made in energy efficiency CEEA will recognize two special advocates on May 20 in Toronto at its twentieth anniversary dinner. Join us as they honour soon-to-be-retiring leaders in their field - Carol Buckley, director general, Office of Energy Efficiency, Natural Resources Canada and Allan Crandlemire, CEO of Efficiency Nova Scotia. 

The evening will be anchored by keynote Bruce Campbell, IESO president and CEO who will discuss his progress at IESO and its new mandate.
