Hi Friends!

It's hard to believe another holiday season has come and gone here at The Salvation Army. Most of you have probably taken down the tinsel and stowed away the stockings. But luckily for us in Coastal Alabama, the celebrating continues with Mardi Gras

As you get ready for the all the balls and the revelry, we hope you will remember your friends at
The Salvation Army and those who are in need
. If you still have dresses from years past hanging in the closet, or even old beads and throws that it's time to get rid of, please consider donating them to The Salvation Army.

Every donation and sale at our Salvation Army Thrift Stores helps us change lives and save lives right here in Mobile & Baldwin Counties. The stores also provide an affordable place for the less fortunate to find their needs, and for smart shoppers to find bargains.

May the good times roll for each of you, and Happy Mardi Gras!

Many Blessings,

Majors Mark & Susan Brown

Coastal Alabama Area Commanders

HOLIDAY THANKS!
THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the holidays brighter for those in need through The Salvation Army! Because of your generosity and support:
  • 2,400 children in need were given Christmas gifts through the Angel Tree Program
  • 1,500 people enjoyed a hot Thanksgiving and Christmas Meal
  •  $258,000 raised through Red Kettle Campaign
  • $154,000 raised through Neediest Families Campaign
  • More than 2,500 Volunteer Hours were given!
COLD WEATHER SHELTER TONIGHT
Already this winter, The Salvation Army has provided 30 nights of Cold Weather Emergency Shelter for those in need of a safe and warm place to sleep at night. Anytime the temperature dips below 40 degrees, we open our doors as an emergency overnight shelter, accomodating as many as we can. Dinner is always open to anyone, and all who stay overnight are given a hot breakfast in the morning.

Just during these emergency operations, we've already sheltered more than 1,450 people with life-saving warmth and provided more than 3,000 meals

TONIGHT will be a Cold Weather Emergency Shelter night, and w
e know this need will continue through the next few months. We need your help to make this life-saving shelter available for our neighbors in need. During winter months, our gas and power bills increase significantly! Our food costs and maintenance needs also increase as we serve more people. Please consider making a monetary donation to help us keep our doors open for this emergency sheltering.

THANK YOU for being such a great friend to The Salvation Army of Coastal Alabama and to the people we serve. Together, we are saving lives and  changing lives... we are Doing The Most Good!
