Luke 18 2016
Attention all 6 th -8 th grade students... registration is now open for Luke 18 2016! The retreat will be February 5-7, 2016 at St. Mary's (1706 West Main ST) in Belleville. If you are unfamiliar with Luke 18, the weekend is an excellent opportunity for students to experience God's love in new and exciting ways through games, songs, sharing, and a series of talks given by high school students.
With "youth ministering to youth," the 6 th , 7 th & 8 th graders, known as "Lukers," are able to relate more easily to the experience of living a Christian life at home and school. More information is on our website or contact the Adult Team Co-Leaders:  Kristine Lamons and Randy Riesenberger at [email protected] .

Cosgrove's Kitchen Collection
January 23/24

SVDP
Your donation to Cosgrove's Kitchen (operated by the St. Vincent de Paul Society) helps feed the suffering poor in East St. Louis, but works in many other ways as well. Every donation means less money must be spent to keep the Kitchen operating that month, and that money can then be directed to special programs and services to help the poor in many other ways, such as free budgeting classes for those struggling to make ends meet, job skills seminars to teach resume writing and interviewing skills, and a prescription outreach program to assist with low cost or free medications for the uninsured or underinsured.

The good works of Cosgrove's Kitchen can only be accomplished by relying on the generous spirit of caring people like you, and those who receive your gifts are very grateful for your help! The Kitchen is always in need of the items listed below, and our parish is one of their few sources of donations of this type. We'll collect your donations at the front entrance of the church as you arrive for Mass the weekend of January 23 and 24 and deliver them to Cosgrove's Kitchen.

The Kitchen is especially in need of:
12 oz styrofoam bowls for soup
            8 oz styrofoam cups
            Zip lock sandwich bags
            Hand sanitizer
            Bleach
            Paper towels
Other items needed:
55 gal black drum liners (available at Sam's)
33 gal clear plastic bags (available at Sam's)
            T-shirt bags (available at Sam's)
Napkins
Toilet paper
Individually packaged potato chips
Cookies
Or, you might try the "green" approach:
Monetary donations to help with utilities bills . . . always much appreciated!

If you have any questions, please call Cathy Muren (233-4767) or Lisa McCoy (416-0412). God has blessed us all so generously--can you share a small part of your blessings with our suffering neighbors?
