January 2014

MEETING CANCELLED

The January UCCTU meeting was cancelled Tuesday morning due to the impending winter storm.  An e-mail was sent out, as well as a notice posted on Facebook.  I hope that all of you who were planning on attending received notice in time and were not inconvenienced.  Ron has promised to schedule Andrew Brown to speak to us later in the year.

Saturday, April 12 Kevin McGrath will rally us to clean up Jones Bridge as part of "Sweep the Hooch".  The weekend of April 26 & 27 Ron Cheslock will have a Spring Fishing Trip for us.  Saturday, May 3 Jim Harvey will be holding the Rizzio Clinic.  And we have a chance to cool our feet in the streams of north Georgia with "Back-the-Brookie"  work days on Saturdays, June 21 and July 12.

Also this spring, UCCTU members have a unique opportunity to learn more about our organization when the Southeastern Regional TU meeting comes to the Dillard House in Clayton on Saturday March 29.  I will be looking for a big turnout of our Chapter leaders and aspirants.  Please contact me if you are interested in attending the seminars/workshops and/or the BBQ.

Sincerely,
Brad

"Competitive Fishing and Techniques"
   Andrew Brown
Andrew is a part of the US Youth Fly fishing team. He will be speaking about their team and some of the techniques they use to fish rivers and lakes around the world. With lots of success through the years, he can definitely help you pick up a tip or two to improve your fishing techniques. Since the meeting was canceled, Andrew will be rescheduled for a future date. Feel free to ask him about his fishing lessons and for advice about fishing if you see him at our meetings.
