Country Bluegrass Show

Country Bluegrass Show

The 15th annual North Platte Country Bluegrass Show is April 23-25 at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds, 5015 W. Rodeo Road.

The festival offers a great lineup of bluegrass entertainers, good food, craft/vendor show, workshops, jamming, and much more! On Saturday morning, is the band showcase, giving up and coming bluegrass artists the chance to perform and show their talent in front of a large audience and other promoters.

Hungry? Why wait? The festival offers a kitchen on site that serves 3 meals a day along with concessions throughout the day and evening. Satisfy your sweet tooth with a piece of homemade pie or desert!

Don't forget, after the last concert of every evening, head over to the kitchen for the "Eat & Greet". This is where you can grab a piece of pie and coffee and visit with the entertainers and jam for a bit!

Tickets are available at Sandhills State Bank, 803 S Dewey St. in North Platte. A single day pass is $22, three day pass is $55 and three day reserved seating is $65.

JunktoberFest in April!

JunktoberFest is a vintage and artisan market that will be held in North Platte's D& N Event Center, 501 E. Walker Road on April 25 and 26. Saturday hours are 9am to 6pm and Sunday hours are 11am to 3pm.

Taste of the Plains

Indulge your tastes with local flavors and explore fine art presented by area Plains artists at the second annual Taste of the Plains.

April 30 at 5:30pm at North Platte's Sandhills Convention Center. Tickets are $25 in advance or at the door.

All proceeds benefit Mid-Plains United Way funded agencies.

Bubble Bash!

Are you ready to get bubble-fied? Because at the Bubble Bash 5k that is exactly what will happen! It's time to give bath time a run for it's money.

It's possible that The Bubble Bash 5k will change participants' outlook on laundry, dishes and baths, perhaps even life as they get moving with this bubbly color party! The route starts at the south campus of the North Platte Community College, then runs west on State Farm, north on Echo, east on Walker and south on Willow back to the South Campus. The race will start at 2:00pm.

At each mile marker throughout the 5k there will be foam-stations that will allow participants the unique opportunity to blast their bodies into another world as they run, walk, crawl or roll through colorful foam.

Running isn't for everyone, but the Bubble Bash mixes it up...rather than dashing AWAY from that pile of dishes, baskets of laundry, or dirty feet from that latest gardening project, participants will dash TOWARDS something this year - finding a way to make fitness a way of life.

The Bubble Bash is a non-competitive fun-run... it isn't a timed race, unless you count the times participants laugh, smile and create a new memory than rather than the seconds it takes them to make it through the course.

Registration is open now. A link to the registration page can be found at http://visitnorthplatte.com/bubble-bash/. Participants can register as individuals, families or teams. Children five and under are free. Registration fees range from $21.66 to $40.00, depending on whether registering as an individual, or the family or team size.
