Help Honor Pope Francis!

Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity is seeking members of the local Catholic community to come together and build a Habitat home in honor of Pope Francis! To make this possible, we are asking for support financially, through in-kind services, and with volunteer labor.  All donations are tax deductible - and they're being matched by a generous anonymous donor!

Support a Habitat Family Partner
Serve as a Family Supporter and help provide guidance, empowerment, and support to a Habitat family partner as they go through the year-long homeownership process. To volunteer in this rewarding role,  contact Amy !
Answer Phones at the ReStore
The Ogden ReStore needs help answering incoming calls and routing calls to the donations coordinator.  If you are interested and able to help on a consistent basis each week, please email the Volunteer Coordinator!

Staff Changes at Cape Fear Habitat
Tim Synan is Cape Fear Habitat's new Volunteer Coordinator! Tim will start on July 7 and is ready to work with our wonderful volunteers!  Tim, his wife, and their new baby have come to Wilmington from Massachusetts and they are looking forward to this new journey! And we want to thank Jackie Daraszdi, who was our Interim Volunteer Coordinator for more than four months.  Jackie did a great job and will be missed! 
Jessica Loeper, our previous Volunteer Coordinator, is now Habitat's Director of Outreach. So you will still see her around! She is excited about the opportunity to share Habitat's story with the community through marketing, grants and special events!
Delbe Spath is Cape Fear Habitat's new Consumer Credit Counselor!  Delbe has been getting to know our Family Partners and homeowners since May, and has been a wonderful addition to our staff! 

Delbe is taking over for Suzanne Kirby, who is retiring after serving as Habitat's Credit Counselor for more than seven years! Suzanne has helped so many Habitat families through her guidance and honesty, and we will all miss her!
Mike Taylor, one of Cape Fear Habitat's construction site supervisors has taken a job with the City of Wilmington and his last day will be Friday, July 3.  Mike has helped improve safety on our construction sites and has been a valuable leader!  We will miss Mike but we wish him the best!

We are currently seeking a new site supervisor for our construction sites.  If you or someone you know is interested in leading volunteers and building with Habitat, you can view the job description here!
A Heartfelt Goodbye To Dedicated Volunteers
Three dedicated, wonderful volunteers passed away in May and June and they will be forever missed by the Cape Fear Habitat family.

Greg Howard was a regular weekday Habitat construction volunteer for many years; Oscar Waldkirch helped to start the volunteer electrical crew and served as a leader in that group for more than 80 Habitat builds; and Tracey Bryant was a regular downtown ReStore volunteer for more than 17 years.

These three volunteers gave countless hours to the mission and work of Habitat. We are indebted to their service and will remember them always.  

Happy Fourth of July!!

The Cape Fear Habitat office will be closed for the Fourth of July Holiday on Friday, July 3.

 

The ReStores will be open on Friday, July 3 but will be closed on Saturday, July 4.  

 

Builds will not occur on Saturday, July 4.  Normal hours and builds will resume the week of July 6.
