At Unity, 2015 is "A Journey of Spiritual Discovery." Are you choosing to take that path for yourself? What adventures have you had so far this year? What discoveries await you in the months ahead? What revelations, insights, manifestations and delights will you be graced with this year? What new joy, happiness, abundance, positive energy, and relationships will you allow into your life? How many facets of the ever-expanding Love that is ours to claim will you accept for yourself? What inward journeys will you take with Infinite Spirit? What dreams will you envision and then "see" coming true? Who and what will "show up" for you and in what ways will you show up for others? Can you imagine a year of spiritual discovery like that? Well, the "imagining" is a major piece of the journey. Together, let's continue to dream big and live large as we begin the second half of 2015! Are you feeling free? Free to spend time doing the things you love? Free from doubt, worry, fear, thoughts of lack? Free to be the "you" that you really feel yourself to be? This Sunday we'll take a look at this topic through the lens and with the aid of spiritual consciousness. How can we find a sense of more personal freedom in our lives? How can we break those seeming "chains that bind us"? How can we believe in who and what we are so fully and steadfastly that we live the life that we most want to live and we nourish and nurture our personal power? With wisdom from Emilie Cady's book, LESSONS IN TRUTH, and other sources, Rev. Bronte will lead us into a look at our innate "freedom to be" and the chain-snapping power of spiritual understanding.
Whether or not you can be with us this Sunday, you may want to think about freedom this weekend, remembering the God-filled aspects of who you are and the spiritual consciousness that is forever at your call. How might you live more fully? How can you see others in the light of "freedom to be"? We'd love to see you this Sunday. Remember, you are always, always welcome at Unity Athens!

NOTE: Summer Sundays are casual at Unity Athens. While it's always okay to wear what you prefer and /or feel comfortable in, some folks like to go more casual in the summertime.
OUR EARLY MEDITATION SERVICE, "MORNING QUIETUDE," is pausing for the summer.
Morning Quietude, which consists of gently guided meditation and oftentimes Reiki healers, will pause for June & July & possibly August. However, the meditation area in the lobby (center front glass doors) will be set up with soft music and comfortable seating from 9:40 to 10:20 for anyone who wishes to meditate individually.

Please join us in prayers for Charleston; prayers for the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, their congregation, and for all those affected by what happened on June; prayers for our country and all places of worship around the globe. Let us sow love where there is the appearance of hatred. As part of our Sunday service prayers, we will hold sacred space and love around Emanuel AME & all places of worship. Consider finding ways to respond with love today, to whatever appears in your life. You can make a difference.
Our Emilie Cady, HOW I USED TRUTH, Book Study Group had its final class for the summer.
This was a great class with lots of interactive discussions, insights, and delving into the text of How I Used Truth. We will meet over coffee at Jason's Deli on Tuesday, July 7 at 1:45 to touch base with each other and discuss the handouts that were given to the group at the last class. This gathering is open to all; let us know if you'd like a copy of the handout and/or you wish to attend on July 7.

A COURSE IN MIRACLES. Taught by the highly experienced and insightful facilitator, Drew Smith, this popular class dives deeply into A Course, while making the text even more understandable and relevant to daily life. Open to all. If you don't own the book, there's always someone willing to share. Because of the ongoing nature of this class, feel free to stop in as you can, or to participate every Sunday. Donations are accepted and appreciated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Our CommUnity Movie gatherings will pause for the summer months and resume in September. We are so appreciative for the great turnouts we've had for recent movies including TALKING STORY. We are looking forward to showing more great, spiritually-based movies in just a few months. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- USED BOOK & AUDIO SALE - on the porch and in the sanctuary on select Sundays. We have many spiritually-based books & CDs that have been donated recently for sale at bargain prices. Check it out! We also welcome donations of your good condition used books. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Congratulations and welcome to our four new interim board members who will hold office until the next board member election held later this year. We appreciate Eutelia Burtz, Cathy Payne, Chris Niggel, and Greg Barnard stepping up with their ideas and energy to serve on the Board of Trustees for Unity Athens. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2015 Leadership Training for the UMMAS sub-region will be held Friday evening, July 17 and Saturday, July 18 at Atlanta Unity in Norcross. There is no charge to attend; however, lodging is on your own unless you are an employee or board member of Unity Athens. Invited: all Board members, Youth Ed leaders & teachers, Social media teams, Licensed Teachers, and Ministers & Spiritual Leaders (and spouses & partners) of the Unity Ministers of the Mid-Atlantic States region and anyone interested in becoming a board member of Unity Athens. You can expect to learn about yourself, about your role in your church, and how other churches do things. You will meet ministers, licensed teachers, Board members, youth ed teachers, and leadership teams from many other churches. You will have an opportunity to interact and network with them. This is always a great time to make new friends and be around like-minded folks.

Attend a "New Member" class to become a member of Unity Athens.
Consider making a deeper connection and becoming a member of our Unity Athens Family.
To achieve membership, there are several requirements: attendance at a New Member class, taught by Rev. Bronte, and all new members are asked to view the DVD, "What is New Thought?," which explores the history and philosophy of the New Thought movement, including Unity. We will have showings of this important documentary around the time of New Member classes, or you can purchase it online to watch. If you are transferring an active membership from another Unity church, it may be possible to waive one or both requirements. It is also highly recommended that you attend one of our book study groups for a deeper insight into Unity principles and teachings. There is no fee to take the New Member class or to become a member. These classes are open to all and are a good way to lean more about the Unity movement and Unity Athens. Check with Bronte for dates & schedules for classes, the movie showing, and the next opportunity to join Unity Athens.
