This workshop covers the essential elements of business plan development including setting goals & objectives, preparing marketing & financial plans, and defining action steps to attain your goals. The session pays special attention to financing. When you're done, you will understand what people expect in a business plan, what you should expect to prepare, and how SCORE can help you prepare it if you want help. |
Mark Lieberman is a serial entrepreneur who learned about entrepreneurship first hand by starting four different small businesses during his career. Like many, Mark learned working in corporate America wasn't for him so he started businesses. He and a partner started a combination software and services business from scratch and built it into a company with almost $20 million in annual sales. His second effort was a consulting business while the third was an e-book reader working prototype seven years prior to Kindle. The last was a telecommunications company which he grew from zero to $8 million in 4 years before being sold. Mr. Lieberman graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and has a Masters degree from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management. He has published a number of articles on production and inventory control, a field he learned well during his first business. Mark is a SCORE mentor in Niles and Des Plaines and enjoys teaching business planning. Retired, Lieberman lives in Highland Park with his wife. Early risers may see him staying balanced by enthusiastically running and biking the streets of the area. |
